The town is located on Muse River bank. It is known that in 1422 a manor was there, that belonged to Kristinas Astikus Astikaitis who was a nobleman of the Grand Duke Vytautas. In 17th century Radvila family was the owner of the manor. Barbora Radvilaite has been visiting this manor. Later she married Lithuania Grand Duke and the King of Poland Zygimantas Augustas. In 18th century the manor belonged to Kiskiai family and at the end of 18th - beginning of 19th century it was Podbereskis family property. The manor did not remain.
The first church was built in 1522. It was evangelical reformed church in the times of Radvila family. In the beginning of 17th century it became a catholic church again. The present church if St. Trinity was built in 1856. It is a stone neogothic church with an elegant octagon tower. The church was built according to English neogothic traditions. The old wooden church belfry remained till our day, and in the cellar of the belfry there is landlord’s Podbereskis family crypt. In the graveyard of the church is buried a signatory Alfonsas Petrulis (1873 – 1928) who signed the Act of Independence on the 16th of February 1918. He moved to Musninkai on his last year of life.
On the road to Ciobiskis there is an old stone chapel with the sculpture of Queen Barbora Radvilaite on the top that was built in remembrance of the Queen.
